Your daily routine has no doubt changed in the past few days as news, warnings and recommendations about the novel coronavirus, COVID-19, continue to evolve. Our team at the League has felt these effects as well.

Even as the world around us changes in unexpected ways, the League’s commitment to Keep Tahoe Blue remains strong. Our operations have been adjusted for safety while we continue working to achieve our goals on schedule.

The League is following recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the California Department of Public Health and the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services to ensure the health and safety of our staff, volunteers, collaborators and supporters.

In light of local shelter-in-place orders, we have closed our office, education center and store. We will continue to accept orders through our online store as usual, though orders will not be shipped until local shelter-in-place orders have been lifted. All League events, including Volunteerpalooza and activities surrounding Earth Day, have been cancelled. Similarly, activities for our citizen science programs, including Pipe Keepers, Eyes on the Lake and Tahoe Blue Crews, are suspended until further notice. Please check in with your League contact for more info.

We will continue to offer online, on-demand trainings for our Pipe Keepers citizen science program and aim to add other online trainings in the coming days and weeks. In these trying times, we hope to give our members, volunteers and supporters opportunities to get outside and help protect the Lake. Please check our events page regularly for updates and opportunities.

Please expect to see updates and information on our ongoing work through our website, email and social media. If you don’t already, please like and follow us on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook to stay informed, and subscribe to our email list.

Please feel free to send us an email if you have any questions.

Together we Keep Tahoe Blue.
