Katy Jo Caringer
Katy Jo leads the League’s social media strategy, shaping cross-channel storytelling that strengthens community engagement and inspires action to Keep Tahoe Blue. In her role, she builds and nurtures an active online community by creating authentic, community-centered content that deepens the public’s connection to the League’s mission.
She joined the League with more than a decade of experience in developing brand identities through visual storytelling that inspires community connection and drive action. A photographer for over 15 years, Katy Jo enjoys capturing the beauty of wild places across the West, using her lens to advocate for their protection for future generations. Before joining the League, she worked with environmental organizations like ECO-CLEAN Solutions and outdoor brands including Salomon, producing creative campaigns that promote sustainability and responsible outdoor recreation. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Retailing and Consumer Sciences with a focus on Marketing Communications.
Originally from Colorado, Katy Jo relocated to Lake Tahoe in 2022 to immerse herself in its outdoor community. She’s an avid snowboarder, mountain biker, and landscape photographer who spends her free time exploring the backcountry and documenting the breathtaking scenery of the Sierra Nevada.
