Deirdre Francks, Data Manager, Keep Tahoe Blue

Deirdre Francks

Data Manager

As Keep Tahoe Blue’s Data Manager, Deirdre applies best practices in data collection, management, and analysis to advance programs that protect Lake Tahoe. Using tools like the R programming language and ArcGIS, she creates reports, visualizations, and maps that drive the organization’s science-to-solutions approach.

Deirdre brings both environmental and technical expertise to her role. While studying environmental science at Stanford University, she developed a data science skill set that she applied across diverse research projects—from analyzing global aquaculture developments to developing climate policy briefs for state legislature candidates. She also spent summers in the Tahoe Basin as an environmental educator. Before joining Keep Tahoe Blue, she worked as a Data Science Educator at Posit PBC (formerly RStudio), where she helped teams build skills in reproducible and collaborative data science.

Outside of work, Deirdre enjoys exploring the Tahoe Basin with friends—by bike, on foot, or on skis.
