David H. Blau
David, his wife Jennifer, and their family have had a home at Rubicon Bay since the 1980s. They spend as much time as possible at the Lake and enjoy kayaking, swimming and hiking the West Shore.
David retired in 2010 as Senior Vice President of EDAW, Inc., a leading planning, architectural and environmental design firm headquartered in San Francisco. David was key to building the environmental practice of the firm for 36 years and was instrumental in growing the firm from 60 people in three offices in 1975 to 1800 people in 33 international offices by 2005. The firm merged with AECOM in 2006. David specializes in the integration and fusion of land planning, design and science. He has extensive experience in California water management and is well-known for his award-winning work in water and land resource planning and management. He has often served as the critical link between science and policy decision-making.
He is passionate about protecting the Lake and has led numerous projects in the Tahoe Basin, including stream/wetland restoration, park planning and NEPA/ CEQA compliance. David received his BSLA from Penn State University and his Masters in Urban Planning from Georgia Tech. David served on the League to Save Lake Tahoe Board of Directors from 2014 to 2022, and led the program committee for many years.
