Darby Creegan

Public Policy Intern

Darby was born and raised in South Lake Tahoe and graduated from South Tahoe High School in 2022. She currently attends Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania, where she studies History and English Literature.

She was the President of the Climate Crew & Generation Green Club during her time as a Viking and enjoyed collaborating with the League to bring volunteer opportunities to environmentally interested youth. Her senior project involved working with the City of South Lake Tahoe to write the first draft of the Single-Use Plastic Water Bottle Ordinance, which she presented to the City Council in June of 2022. Last summer, Darby worked at the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency as its Government Affairs and Communications Intern and brings experience with the milieu of local legislation and how to speak with Basin communities to the League. This past spring, she worked with the Swarthmore Borough to help implement its ordinance banning Single-Use plastic bags as part of an environmental studies course.

In her free time, she enjoys laying in the grass and reading science-fiction novels, hunting down vintage dresses, and spending time with friends & family when she’s not swimming in beautiful Lake Tahoe.
