Courtney Baumann
Courtney inspires and empowers the community to protect Lake Tahoe through hands-on engagement opportunities. As Keep Tahoe Blue’s Community Science Manager, she leads many of the organization’s citizen science and community engagement events, such as Tahoe Forest Stewardship Days, Eyes on the Lake, Snapshot Day, and water quality monitoring initiatives. Courtney’s work connects Tahoe’s community with Keep Tahoe Blue’s mission, fostering environmental stewardship and promoting action to safeguard the Lake. With her expertise and enthusiasm, Courtney ensures that every event is impactful and every participant leaves informed, inspired, and ready to make a difference.
Courtney joined Keep Tahoe Blue in 2022 with a background in customer service, data management, and environmental education. Previously, her passions for environmental conservation and research led her to volunteer at the Monterey Bay Aquarium and work on wildlife conservation projects in Florida, Costa Rica, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Courtney holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marine Science from California State University, Monterey Bay.
Courtney enjoys scuba diving, hiking, mountain biking, snowboarding, and spending time with her dog.
