Brooks Stratmore
Brooks Stratmore grew up spending his summers and winters at Lake Tahoe at his family cabin in Rubicon Bay, developing a deep connection with the Lake and its health. He attended the Cate School in Carpinteria and later the University of California, Berkeley. After graduating from Cal, Brooks worked for Senator Harry M. Reid of Nevada, focusing, among other responsibilities, on environmental issues, including Lake Tahoe water rights, mining and the U.S. Bureau of Land Management.
While working in the Senate, Brooks realized that the pull to live in California was too great to ignore and he moved back in 2000, where he began a career in commercial real estate. After founding and growing the brokerage house Spieker Stratmore Commercial, Brooks transitioned to the ownership and management of real estate and in 2008 he founded Elwood Investments, Inc.
Brooks enjoys water and snow skiing, hiking, biking and swimming at the Lake. Sharing experiences with his wife and daughter at the Lake are certainly the highlight and a main reason for his involvement with Keep Tahoe Blue.
Brooks served on the Keep Tahoe Blue Board from 2017 to 2021.
