‘One storm does not make a winter’: Tahoe region behind average for snowpack

Despite last week’s storm, the Tahoe area is well behind average in snowfall and precipitation for the year.

Following a dry autumn and an abysmal 2019-20 water year, the Truckee and Tahoe basins received one inch less precipitation than average for January. “One storm does not make a winter,” Nevada Natural Resources Conservation Service hydrologist Jeff Anderson
