Levi’s x Keep Tahoe Blue: A Natural Fit

League to Save Lake Tahoe
February 17, 2023

2022 offered a unique opportunity for the League to collaborate with one of the San Francisco Bay Area’s most iconic brands to help Keep Tahoe Blue. Together with Levi Strauss & Co., we created a limited-edition Keep Tahoe Blue Trucker Jacket that celebrates our shared love for Lake Tahoe and raises funds to support the League’s lake-saving work.

While the League is known for protecting the Lake for future generations, Levi Strauss & Co. is known for creating timeless wardrobe essentials that are passed down through generations. Given the common thread, our team dove into this collaboration as a chance to create a collectible denim jacket and a symbol of environmental stewardship that Tahoe-lovers can wear for decades.

Levi Strauss & Co.’s interest in partnering with the League is owed to the company’s culture of corporate philanthropy dating back to 1854, and to its understanding of how climate change is impacting our world, California and the Sierra Nevada.

“From fires to flooding, we have a responsibility to support organizations that are working to preserve and protect the natural environment of California,” said Kylie Grader, Levi’s advocacy and communications manager.

Levi Strauss & Co. embraces responsible practices across the company and collaborates with others who share their dedication to conservation, environmentalism and limiting global temperature rise to no more than 1.5°C compared to pre-industrial levels. Some of their commitments include:

  • implementing Reuse and Recycling Standards for water at the factories where they operate,
  • design innovations that integrate resource-saving fibers and recycled content into products, and
  • supporting organizations like the League who work locally and nationally to steward natural resources.

“The League’s mission to protect and restore the environmental health, sustainability and scenic beauty of the Lake Tahoe Basin is of particular interest to many of our employees who live in the Bay Area and enjoy the beauty of Lake Tahoe regularly,” shares Grader.

To date, sales of the limited-edition Keep Tahoe Blue Trucker Jacket have raised over $70,000 for the League’s conservation efforts.

Inventory of the jackets is limited. However, you can purchase your own Keep Tahoe Blue Trucker Jacket through our store – keeptahoeblue.org/store – while supplies last.
