Join Keep Tahoe Blue and fellow trained Eyes on the Lake volunteers for a morning survey at Nevada Beach. This opportunity is designed for Eyes on the Lake volunteers who have previously completed training, are current Tahoe Keepers, and have access to a kayak or paddleboard.
During this survey day, volunteers will work in small groups to practice identifying aquatic invasive species and help monitor Lake Tahoe’s shoreline for potential threats.

- Final details will be sent a few days prior to the event to those who sign up. If you do not pre-register, you will need to complete a volunteer waiver onsite during check-in.
- Volunteers under 18 – will need to create a volunteer account and provide a guardian’s email to complete the waiver online.
- Volunteers under 13 – will need to provide a guardian’s email to create a volunteer account and complete the waiver online

What to Bring:
- Kayak or paddleboard with a current Nevada AIS decal ($6)
- Personal flotation device (including PFD/life vest)
- Sun protection (hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, etc.)
- Swimsuit
- Towel
- Full, reusable water bottle
- Any snacks you may want
- Snorkel gear (if you have it)
What to Wear: Clothing appropriate for spending the morning on and around the water, including a swimsuit and sun-protective layers.
What We Will Provide: Survey guidance and support from Keep Tahoe Blue’s Eyes on the Lake staff.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Surveying designated areas of Nevada Beach
- Practicing aquatic invasive species identification
- Contributing valuable monitoring data that helps protect Lake Tahoe
