2025 Eyes on the Lake x Tahoe Keepers Chance to Win

  1. NO PURCHASE, CONTRIBUTION, OR CONSIDERATION IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. MAKING A PURCHASE OR CONTRIBUTION WILL NOT IMPROVE AN INDIVIDUAL’S CHANCES OF WINNING. 
  2. How to Enter: Participants can enter online by submitting an Eyes on the Lake survey and/or registering as a Tahoe Keeper during the contest period, May 1, 2025 at 12:00 am to September 30, 2025 at 11:59 pm, and selecting the button to “opt-in” to this contest. An Eyes on the Lake survey may be completed at citizensciencetahoe.org. Registration as a Tahoe Keeper may be completed on the Tahoe Keepers website. To enter a contest on either website, participants must complete all of the information deemed necessary to declare a winner. The League to Save Lake Tahoe does not assume any liability for any malfunction of the telecommunication, internet or individual computer systems. By selecting the “opt-in” button and entering this contest, participants thereby agree to these Terms and Conditions.
  3. To enter for a chance to win, without submitting an Eyes on the Lake survey or becoming a Tahoe Keeper, please mail a request titled “2025 Eyes on the Lake x Tahoe Keepers Chance to Win” and include your name and mailing address. All entries must be received by September 30, 2025. One entry will be accepted for each individual stamped letter received. The League to Save Lake Tahoe is not responsible for any lost, stolen, misdirected or damaged mail. 
  4. The League to Save Lake Tahoe will randomly select winning entry(s) from all valid entries received. The odds of winning depend upon the number of eligible entries received and/or the number of contestants participating in the contest. Each contestant is eligible for up to two (2) entries for the duration of the contest, May 1-September 30, 2025. Winners will be selected on or after June 2, July 1, August 1, September 2, and October 1, 2025. If an entry is illegible or does not supply all information deemed necessary to declare a winner, the entry will be deemed invalid and another entry will be selected.
  5. Participants who enter the contest by registering online as a Tahoe Keeper hereby acknowledge that the information provided during registration that is deemed necessary to declare a winner may be shared with the League to Save Lake Tahoe solely for the purposes of this contest.
  6. Participants and winners must be at least eighteen (18) years or older. Winners acknowledge that if they enter any contest under a fraudulent name and/or email address, they will automatically be disqualified from the contest. 
  7. Employees of the League to Save Lake Tahoe, their affiliates, their partners ,(including the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency), their representatives, and members of the immediate families of such are ineligible to participate or win. The term “immediate family” includes spouses, domestic partners, siblings, parents, children, grandparents, and grandchildren, whether as “in-laws,” or by current or past marriage(s), remarriage(s), adoption, co-habitation or other family extension, and any other persons residing at the same household whether or not related. 
  8. All prizes must be accepted as awarded. Prizes are not transferable, redeemable for cash or exchangeable for any other prize. Winners will be notified by email and must schedule a pick up date or provide a valid U.S. mailing address within seven (7) calendar days to League staff, to which the prize will be picked up at the League to Save Lake Tahoe office (2877 Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150) or mailed to the winner’s address. If the winner fails to respond and schedule a pickup date or provide an address within seven (7) calendar days, the winner forfeits the prize, and no other prize will be awarded in its place. If a winner cannot be contacted or is disqualified, we reserve the right to determine an alternate winner or to not award that winner’s prize. We retain the right to substitute a prize with another similar prize of equal or greater value in the event the original prize offered is not available due to circumstances beyond its control. 6. Delivery of prizes: All prizes will be picked up from the League to Save Lake Tahoe office (2877 Lake Tahoe Blvd, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150) or mailed within ten (10) calendar days of receiving a valid U.S. mailing address by the winner. The grand prize must be picked up in person. We are not responsible for any lost, stolen, misdirected or damaged mail. Prizes lost or damaged in mailing will not be replaced. 
  9. Payment of taxes and related expenses: Each winner is solely responsible for reporting and paying any and all applicable taxes related to the prize(s) and paying any expenses associated with any prize which are not expressly included as part of the prize. 
  10. Required documentation: Winners of prizes with a fair market value of $600 or greater must execute and return an IRS Form W-9 and an affidavit of eligibility and liability release, as well as any additionally required forms, and must provide a photocopy of a legal document showing residence and a photocopy of a legal document showing the winner’s social security number within seven (7) calendar days after receiving such forms or the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be randomly selected from the remaining eligible entries. Winners agree to accept the estimate of fair market value of the prize. Winners of prizes with a fair market value of less than $600 may be requested to execute and return an affidavit of eligibility and liability release and provide a photocopy of a legal documents. Where such forms are requested, winners must execute and return such forms and documents within seven (7) calendar days after receiving the forms or the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be randomly selected from the remaining eligible entries. We may require proof of each winner’s own social security number before a prize can be sent to the winner. 
  11. Release of liability: All winners and their guests, by acceptance of any prize, agree to release and hold forever harmless the League to Save Lake Tahoe and their affiliated prize partners, their affiliated companies, their agents, officers, employees, affiliates, partners (including the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency and its affiliated entities), and assigns for any injuries, accidents, misfortunes, or causes of action arising from or in connection with participation in any contest, acceptance of any prize, use of any prize, or while traveling to or from any prize related activity. 
  12. The League to Save Lake Tahoe has the sole discretion to terminate a contest at any given time or extend the dates of a contest. The League to Save Lake Tahoe retains the right to amend these rules at any time for any reason. 
  13. The League to Save Lake Tahoe reserves the right to substitute prizes of equal or greater value upon notice or change to the contest rules. Any ties, disputes, conflicts, questions or concerns regarding our contests and/or their associated prizes will be handled by the Chief Operating Officer whose decisions are final and indisputable. 
  14. Choice of law: These rules and all contests are governed by and controlled by the laws of the State of California, applicable to contracts made and performed therein without reference to the applicable choice of law provisions. All actions, proceedings or litigation relating hereto will be instituted and prosecuted solely within the State of California, El Dorado County. The parties consent to the jurisdiction of the state courts of California and the federal courts located with such state and county with respect to any action, dispute or other matter pertaining to or arising out of these rules and all contests.

  7.   10. Documentación requerida: Los ganadores de premios con un valor justo de mercado de $600 o más deben completar y devolver un Formulario W-9 del IRS y una declaración jurada de elegibilidad y exención de responsabilidad, así como cualquier formulario adicional requerido.   12. La League to Save Lake Tahoe se reserva el derecho de cancelar un concurso en cualquier momento o extender sus fechas, a su entera discreción. La League to Save Lake Tahoe se reserva el derecho de modificar estas reglas en cualquier momento y por cualquier motivo.
  13. La League to Save Lake Tahoe se reserva el derecho de sustituir premios de igual o mayor valor tras notificación o modificación de las bases del concurso. Cualquier empate, disputa, conflicto, pregunta o inquietud con respecto a nuestros concursos o sus premios asociados será gestionada por el Director de Operaciones, cuyas decisiones son definitivas e inapelables.  
  14. Elección de la ley aplicable: Estas bases y todos los concursos se rigen por las leyes del Estado de California, aplicables a los contratos celebrados y ejecutados en dicho Estado, sin referencia a las disposiciones aplicables sobre elección de la ley aplicable. Todas las acciones, procedimientos o litigios relacionados con el presente se instituirán y tramitarán exclusivamente en el Estado de California, Condado de El Dorado. Las partes se someten a la jurisdicción de los tribunales estatales de California y de los tribunales federales ubicados en dicho estado y condado con respecto a cualquier acción, disputa u otro asunto relacionado con o derivado de estas bases y todos los concursos.
