LTCC Coyote Christmas Tree-For-All – December 6, 2025

Lake Tahoe Community College (1 College Dr, South Lake Tahoe, CA)
December 6, 2025 | 9 am - 2pm

Lake Tahoe Community College is inviting the public to get a tree permit from them and come and cut your very own Christmas tree for this season. Cutting a Christmas tree will help the meadow behind the college to restore the area from the pine tree encroachment. These trees have been moving farther into the meadow to seek out water from the soil which can eventually change the ecosystem. By selectively removing these encroaching trees, we can help protect the meadow and allow for the native riparian plants to thrive.

Risk Acknowledgement:

  • Tree cutting involves inherent dangers.
  • The tree permit holder agrees not to hold Lake Tahoe Community College liable for injuries or damages during tree harvesting.

Rules for Tree Cutting:

  • No vehicle access: use designate parking lots and trails.
  • Cutting allowed ONLY on flat meadow within marked boundaries.
  • HAND TOOLS ONLY: chainsaws prohibited.
  • Cut only what you can carry.
  • Stumps must be as flush with meadow surface to avoid hazards.
