Protecting Tahoe Together This September

On August 23, Keep Tahoe Blue hosted oceanographer Jean-Michel Cousteau for a sold-out event at UNR at Lake Tahoe to kick off our 2025 Speaker Series. With over 200 attendees, the evening highlighted why protecting Lake Tahoe is inseparable from protecting the planet's waters.

Jean-Michel emphasized that all waters are connected, and each of us has a responsibility to protect them, including the next generation of environmental stewards. His message of action, education, and global responsibility resonated deeply, especially during the audience Q&A, when several attendees shared how the Cousteau family's work had shaped their lives and career paths.

Backed by the leadership of Keep Tahoe Blue, the event underscored how our local science-to-solutions approach links to a global movement for conservation.
