Memorial Day weekend is here, the days are long, and that first beach day is calling. Before you head out, make a Lake-friendly plan. 

If an Emerald Bay visit is on your list, the Emerald Bay Shuttle returns in mid-June with an easy and stress-free way to reach one of Tahoe's busiest spots. Last summer's shuttle season showed why it matters: California Highway Patrol issued 248 parking citations and towed 10 vehicles along the corridor. Take the shuttle, skip the headache, and protect Tahoe from car-related pollution. 

This month, we're spotlighting two Tahoe Blue Businesses that fit that same summer mindset — enjoying Tahoe in ways that help keep beaches and the Lake clean.

ECO-CLEAN SOLUTIONS

Behind the scenes, a fleet of beach-cleaning robots is helping protect Lake Tahoe's shoreline. Meet BEBOT, the solar and battery-powered robot that has already cleaned more than 1.5 million square feet of Tahoe beaches. 

Since 2022, ECO-CLEAN Solutions has completed more than 60 cleanups across 11 Tahoe beaches, removing over 70,000 pieces of litter.  

BEBOT detects and removes up to 10 times more litter than what's visible to the human eye, while its low-impact design helps protect wildlife and native plant habitat. 

As one of our Tahoe Blue Businesses, ECO-CLEAN Solutions is showing how innovation and stewardship can work together to protect Lake Tahoe's clarity.

EFOIL TAHOE

Summer starts differently when you see Tahoe from the water.

Efoil Tahoe offers electric hydrofoil experiences that let riders glide above the surface with less noise, no gas, and no exhaust. It's a cleaner way to enjoy Tahoe up close while respecting the clarity and calm that make the Lake unforgettable.

As a Tahoe Blue Business, Efoil Tahoe shows that adventure and preserving the Lake can go hand in hand. Their work helps set a higher standard for lake-friendly recreation as more people head onto the water this summer.

Protecting Lake Tahoe takes all of us, and businesses play a powerful role in that effort. Our Tahoe Blue Business program brings together local leaders who are committed to doing business in a way that supports the Lake, the community, and the visitor experience. No matter the size or industry, there are many ways to get involved.
