Lake Tahoe National Forest Recreation Facility Status – June 2020

All National Forest trails, trailheads and lands in the Tahoe Basin are open, but campgrounds remain closed at this time and restrooms and trash service are not available in some areas.

The following recreation sites are open, but restrooms and trash service are not available at all locations: 64 Acres Beach, Chimney Beach, Secret Harbor, Newhall (Skunk Harbor), Zephyr Cove Rsort Beach, Round Hill Pines Resort, Nevada Beach, Angora Lookout, Sawmill Pond, Sand Pit OHV Area, Pope Beach, Camp Richardson Resort Beach, Camp Richardson Corral, Tallac Point (Kiva Beach), Kiva Picnic Area, Baldwin Beach, Inspiration Point, Kaspian Beach and William Kent Beach. The Forest Service encourages all National Forest visitors to practice responsible recreation. Visitors should recreate responsibly by maintaining social distance from others and staying home if feeling sick or have been around others who are ill. Do you part to maintain the health and safety of yourself and others by following these guidelines:

Practice Social Distancing. Provide space of at least 6 feet at all times during your visit.
Do Not Gather in Groups. Follow the latest guidance from officials.
Share the Trail. Alert other trail users of your presence and step aside to let them pass.
Pack Out Your Trash. Leave with everything you bring in and use.
