South Tahoe bike share pilot
In the summer of 2017, the League to Save Lake Tahoe collaborated with California-based LimeBike to bring a bike share pilot to South Tahoe. Our goal was to test bike share as a means of reducing car trips. Pollution associated with driving cars degrades Lake Tahoe's clarity.
Protecting Glenbrook Bay from aquatic invasive plants
In 2015, volunteers in the League to Save Lake Tahoe's Eyes on the Lake program discovered a new infestation of aquatic invasive plants in Glenbrook Bay, on Lake Tahoe's eastern shore. Glenbrook homeowners and League volunteers pitched in to help remove the infestation. See how they did it.
Innovation helps keep harmful stormwater from Tahoe
In a harsh winter, anyone driving Tahoe roads appreciates efforts by local jurisdictions and agencies to spread traction materials to improve driver safety. However, fine sediment pollution from that sand and grit can also hurt the Lake's clarity. Together with Tahoe agencies, the League is finding innovative ways to protect the Lake from fine sediment pollution.
