Help us show Tahoe how much we care by participating in Tahoe’s Trash Pickup Challenge, September 1-30! Together we can keep our beautiful Tahoe environment clean and litter free. You can join us all month long at our in-person events, by cleaning up remotely, or both.

All month long we encourage you to go out and pick up any litter that you see! Whether you’re just walking to school or the store, or heading out for an hour long cleanup at your favorite Tahoe spot, make sure to leave it better than you found it by picking up any litter that you see along the way.

Engage with others participating in the Challenge and post your photos for all to see  using the hashtags #TahoeBlueGooder and #LitterFreeTahoe on social media.

Report what you find and double your impact by using the “That’s Not Natural” report on the Citizen Science Tahoe App (citizensciencetahoe.org). Or fill in a data card (provided in cleanup kits, or downloadable here) and either drop it off where you borrowed cleanup supplies or email it to events@keeptahoeblue.org.

You can also join us for any in-person cleanups throughout the month! Follow the links below for more information and to sign up today.

Enter our Tahoe’s Trash Pickup Challenge raffle by submitting data from any of your cleanups using the Citizen Science Tahoe app, or by emailing a photo of the litter you find to events@keeptahoeblue.org. The more data and photos you submit the more entries you get. Winners will be selected at the end of the month. Below are the photo categories. Follow the link to see our full raffle terms and conditions.

Photo challenge categories:

1)     Best before and after

2)     Most single-use items collected

3)     Most unusual item collected

4)     Selfie with your trash collected

Thanks for joining us to #KeepTahoeBlue!
