Joanna works to effectively communicate the League’s science, policy and advocacy efforts with the wider public and members of the media.
Joanna joined the League in 2018 after working for the Energy Institute at Colorado State University where she created and implemented a strategic communications plan for the organization. She has a history of working for mission driven organizations and non-profits. Communications campaigns she has worked on have garnered international media coverage from outlets like the San Francisco Chronicle, NPR and NBC.
She holds an M.A. in journalism and mass communications from the University of Colorado, Boulder and is a member of the National Association of Science Writers. Her work has appeared in outlets such as NationalGeographic.com, the United Nation's publications, the Rocky Mountain News, mindbodygreen.com etc. She currently serves on the Board of Sereia Films, a non-profit dedicated to raising awareness about environmental issues through film.
