DECISION TIME FOR SHOREZONE
In 2008, the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) will vote on a new shorezone plan for Lake Tahoe. The most recent TRPA proposal would profoundly impact the beauty, serenity, and water quality of Lake Tahoe by permiting thousands of new buoys, hundreds of new piers and slips, and many new boat ramps. Engine emissions and noise will be greatly increased without adequate protections for the Lake and those who use it.

The Stewardship Group is a new project of the League to Save Lake Tahoe. It iis a community based forum for environmental education and discussion of watershed issues and a place for residents and community members to come together to help shape the future of the Tahoe Basin’s largest and most significant waterway.
