If You Are a California Resident, Please Tell Your State assembly member TO support scr 13
The League supports SCR 13 (Steinberg) which provides for the formation of the Joint Committee for the Protection of Lake Tahoe. The Joint Committee will provide California residents with the assurance that the state of California, through hands-on involvement by the state legislature, follows through with its commitment to protect the clarity and health of Lake Tahoe.
Follow the steps below to send an email to your Assembly representative and ask them to vote YES on SCR 13.

- SCR 13 would create a joint legislative committee to oversee California’s active role in the budgetary and policy matters related to the protection of Lake Tahoe. The League to Save Lake Tahoe strongly supports this bill.
- State leadership and action are needed at this critical stage in the long-term goal of restoring the health of Lake Tahoe. Our actions today will impact the environment of Lake Tahoe for future generations.
- It is the responsibility of the state of California to ensure the public’s best interest in the protection of Lake Tahoe for all generations to come.
- California legislative oversight of the Tahoe Environmental Improvement Program (EIP) is needed to ensure the continued effectiveness of the program’s efforts to restore Lake Tahoe’s degraded ecosystem.
- The passing of SCR 13 will contribute to a better working relationship with those agencies (State, Federal, and local) that are charged with preserving and protecting Lake Tahoe.
