SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, CALIF. — Oskar Blues Brewery has announced plans to support the League to Save Lake Tahoe, starting with a $5,000 donation. The brewery’s contributions will benefit the League’s campaigns to combat pollution, tackle invasive species, promote restoration and protect Tahoe’s shoreline.
“We could not be more thankful to the team at Oskar Blues for their generous support,” said Darcie Goodman Collins, PhD, the League’s chief executive officer. “Through this donation, and through their commitment to fundraise for the League with their distributors, they are providing critical funds for our efforts to advocate, educate and collaborate to Keep Tahoe Blue.”
Colorado-based Oskar Blues intends to build on its initial donation with plans to provide their craft beers for volunteer events and other League activities. The beer maker is also partnering with its Northern California distribution partners in a joint fundraising effort in which together they will donate $2 for every case of Oskar Blues beers sold in the region in July, up to $15,000.
“Working to preserve Lake Tahoe makes sense to us because it’s a rad place to have an adventure,” said Oskar Blues Brewery Marketing Director Chad Melis. “We want the next generation to have a chance to hike, bike, swim, paddle, and drink beer at these places just like we love to do.”
The League also thanks Oskar Blues Brewery’s Northern California distributor partners who are participating the July fundraising initiative: Saccani Distributing, Breakthru Beverage, Humboldt Beer Distributors, Morris Distributing, Valley Wide Beverage, DBI Stockton, DBI San Mateo, DBI San Jose, and Elyxir Distributing.
