Our Vision for the Lake Tahoe Basin is as clear as the Lake is blue: Lake Tahoe will be a scenic resource nationally and internationally renowned for its stunning setting and the extraordinary clarity of its waters. Lake Tahoe will be surrounded by protected watersheds that include native forests and abundant wildlife. An active and informed community of residents and visitors will act as stewards for the lake. Communities and facilities with longstanding urban boundaries will harmonize with the natural environment and provide low-impact outdoor recreational opportunities to visitors and residents.
