David Brandenburger

Vice President

David Brandenburger

Vice President

David Brandenburger majored in urban planning and environmental engineering at MIT. He now works as a commercial real estate broker at Newmark Cornish & Carey Commercial, specializing in office leasing and sales always with an eye for creating a sense of place with the environment in mind. His dad and aunt spent summers in a family home on the lake near Homewood. Unfortunately just as they were ready to take over in the late 1960s, his grandmother, tired of doing dishes and laundry by hand and maintaining an older cabin, convinced his grandfather they should sell. Fortunately, his family maintained a tie to the Tahoe area and in 1974 purchased Loch Leven Lodge on Donner Lake, the ownership of which he and his brother Garrett recently took over. David feels that the environment and the economy in Lake Tahoe are inextricably linked and in order to improve the environment, we must work to improve economic conditions concurrently. David joined the board in 2002.

As a board member, Dennis works to increase awareness that Lake Tahoe is a fragile ecosystem that cannot be abused. With the new Regional Plan in place, he wants to focus on closely monitoring new projects and assessing their benefits vs. the potential damage they may cause. He hopes to continue to educate the public so they can understand the difference between smart development and development solely for economic benefit. Dennis joined the board in 2000.
